Julie Wright specialises in civil litigation, with a focus on complex construction and commercial disputes, advocacy, advisory work, and domestic and international arbitration.
Julie is well regarded for her attention to detail, efficiency, and extensive construction law experience. She acts for a range of contractors and employers, including many of Australia’s largest commercial construction contractors.
Before being called to the bar in 2013, Julie was a partner at King & Wood Mallesons, where she specialised in contract and construction dispute resolution. Her experience there included litigation, arbitration, expert determination, mediation and adjudication.
Julie practises as a mediator and expert for expert determinations. She is a practising and accredited arbitrator with the Resolution Institute (formerly IAMA).
From 2007 to 2012 Julie lectured an undergraduate course in contract formation and management at the University of Sydney where she was an Adjunct Associate Professor.
Outside of her work as a barrister, Julie is a keen runner and triathlete, and a proud Ironman.
