Ashley Cameron has a commercial practice that focuses on building and construction, insurance, equity and commercial litigation. She represents government, individual and corporate clients, working closely with instructing solicitors and in-house counsel to ensure a practical and commercial approach to resolving disputes.
Ashley’s excellent research, legal analysis and written and oral advocacy skills help her get to the nub of any dispute efficiently and make her an asset both in and out of court.
For four years before becoming a barrister, Ashley worked in the commercial litigation teams at TressCox Lawyers and HWL Ebsworth and was promoted to senior associate within 2.5 years of admission. She was also the tipstaff to NSW Supreme Court judge, the Hon Justice Robert McDougall.
Ashley was voted in as a member of Greenway Chambers within three months of completing readership. She is regularly called on to present on building and construction and contract law.

Forte Sydney Construction Pty Ltd v N Moit & Sons (NSW) Pty Ltd [2022] NSWCA 186.

Lavars v Gillis & Ors [2022] NSWSC 13 (and four related decisions). Ashley appeared (led) for the solicitor and law firm defendants in five related proceedings, successfully defending claims of professional negligence in respect of advice given by the solicitor on offers made during litigation.
Anderson v Canaccord Genuity Financial Ltd [2022] NSWSC 58. Ashley appeared (led) for the sixth defendant, successfully defending a claim of knowing assistance in respect of alleged breaches of fiduciary duties regarding the replacement of the trustee/manager of investment funds.
Re Hardy Bros Equipment Pty Ltd [2021] NSWSC 1693. Ashley appeared (led) for a director seeking the winding up of a company on just and equitable grounds.
Speciality Fasteners ACT Pty Ltd v the Estate of the Late Ida Kukic & Ors. Ashley appeared (led) for a tenant in relation to a lease dispute, successfully arguing that the premises were not fit for their permitted use such that the tenant was entitled to terminate the lease.
SFTB Pty Ltd v Lloyd [2021] NSW CATCD. Ashley appeared for a landlord in relation to a tenancy dispute in the context of the COVID-19 regulations and successfully argued that the tenant’s conduct was repudiatory.
Biomass Solutions (Coffs Harbour) Pty Ltd v Coffs Harbour City Council and Handybin Waste Services (Coffs Harbour) Pty Ltd v Coffs Harbour City Council. These two arbitrations involved contractual construction claims.
Council of the Law Society of New South Wales v Zhukovska (2020) 102 NSWLR 655. Ashley appeared (led) for a solicitor in disciplinary proceedings, successfully opposing an appeal seeking to have the solicitor’s name removed from the roll.
Smith v Ulan Coal Mines Ltd (No 2) [2020] NSWSC 416. Ashley represented Ulan Coal in this Supreme Court case concerning personal injury in the workplace.
Sai v GEA Lawyers Pty Ltd & Ors. Ashley appeared in these class action proceedings involving a claim of professional negligence, unconscionable conduct and misleading and deceptive conduct against solicitors.
Tyde Logistics Pty Ltd v Zupps Southside Pty Ltd t/as Daimler Trucks Brisbane. Ashley was engaged to represent Allianz Insurance Australia Ltd in a negligence claim involving the sale of a truck.
Curnow Consulting Pty Ltd v JPD Media and Design Pty Ltd t/as Durie Design [2017] NSWSC 1171. Ashley represented Curnow Consulting in a Supreme Court contractual claim.
